This is a very easy thing to do.You need to have the time to work with the materials. This kind of body work can be done on all body parts, all cars, trucks, vans, suv's.

when the look you are after is reached, let cure,(dry) for at least 6 hours then wet sand it the last time and buff to a brilliant shine, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

The second is to take a Sharpe marker and trace the outline of the cowl, scoop or what ever peace you are bonding to the hood, finder ext. after you trace it,if working on hood remove, not a have to but it is easier to work. take a grinder and grind 3 inches to the left and right of the peace you are bonding. if metal, take it to the metal, if fiberglass or plastic only scuff it ... no grinding if you do you will go threw these surfaces.

the third part is to take a rivet gun and pop rivet the peace to the part you grind or scuff.then you need to go to your local part store and get bondo glass. it is fiberglass mixed like bondo.it applies like bondo as well.spread the glass down the sides of the peace you are working, make sure to applie to the peace and over on to the mounting surface. try to create a even transition between the to but this is not the finish work.

sand down the glass until it is almost even, there will be low places. this is where the bondo comes in apply regular bondo over the same area of where you did the glass. this is where you need to really try to get it straight with putting it on,remember always fill higher than you need and sand down to where it needs to be.

after you have sanded it you will need to get a can of primer to spray, not paint, you will be using this to see high and low spots that need to be worked. you just want to give it a thin coat and after it drys sand it. this will show you uneven areas.the darker spots(where primer is still on the peace, will be darker than the high spots, where the primer is gone)

Now comes the fun part the actual paint, i picked matte black because that is the color i'am painting the Tahoe. spray the hood the color you pick. this will let you see what you need to rework. this is by far not the last step.

after you spray it you need to put it back on the vehicle if you haven't already. this gets it in the sunlight, this really helps you see the spots if any to re sand.

if there are no spots that need worked then take the hood, etc off for the final paint job.wet sand the hole surface that you are working on.

if it needs reworked repeat the steps of sanding and checking for low, high spots. if no rework, after you sand surface smooth, wipe it with auto paint thinner, let air dry then lay down two coats .

after you put down your nice two coats, let it dry the drying period on the can for re sanding, then wet sand with 1000 plus grit so fine you can hardly fill the grit on the paper, make sure to use a sanding block nothing else..... or you will see every stroke you make when you put your next coat on.

after you have wet sanded it, you need to make sure and re wipe it before the next coats.after it air drys again lay down two coats around the edges of your peace your working on

then you will need to put down the last two coats of paint on the surface.make sure when you are painting that you are spraying with a 50/50 over spray paint pattern.this only means overlap every spray 50% or it will dry spot(tiger striping is what we call this),it occurs when you don't overlap 50% each swipe.

after these coats dry you can do one of two things wet sand one final time, and buff it,or wet sand it and get it ready for a clear coat top coat.

if you want to do a clear over the top repeat wet sanding and lay down as many coats as you want, just remember before each coat wet sand the trash out of the paint then apply another coat of your top coat.

The first thing is placement put the cowl part on the stock hood, to wear it looks the best to you.
